Bhagavad Gita | Chapter 7 | Verse 18 | Sanskrit Chant with Meaning
In this sacred 23-second chant video, experience the divine vibration of Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7, Verse 18, beautifully rendered in Sanskrit. This verse occurs in the Jnana Vijnana Yoga — The Yoga of Knowledge and Wisdom — where Bhagavan Sri Krishna reveals profound truths about the wise devotee (the Jnani), who is ever united with the Divine.
Verse 7.18 (Sanskrit):
उदाराः सर्व एवैते ज्ञानी त्वात्मैव मे मतम्।
आस्थितः स हि युक्तात्मा मामेवानुत्तमां गतिम्॥
Transliteration:
Udārāḥ sarva evaite jñānī tvātmaiva me matam,
Āsthitaḥ sa hi yuktātmā māmevānuttamāṁ gatim.
Meaning:
All these (devotees) are indeed noble, but the man of wisdom, the Jnani, is verily My own Self; for, being steadfast in Me alone, he abides in the Supreme Goal.
This verse expresses the culmination of devotion and knowledge. While all devotees are dear to the Lord, the wise one (Jnani) — who recognizes the Lord as his very Self — becomes one with Him. Such a soul transcends duality and experiences oneness with the Divine Consciousness.
Essence of Verse 7.18:
Every devotee is noble, each walking their own spiritual path.
The Jnani (knower of Truth) alone realizes the highest wisdom — that God and Self are one.
True devotion (Bhakti) matures into knowledge (Jnana), and knowledge finds fulfillment in love for God.
When the mind is completely surrendered, duality dissolves, and only the Infinite remains.
This verse beautifully connects Bhakti (devotion) and Jnana (knowledge) — showing they are not two separate paths but one continuous journey of spiritual evolution.
Listen to this chant with reverence. Let the sound vibrations purify your thoughts and draw your mind inward toward peace and devotion. Even a few seconds of sincere chanting can elevate consciousness and remind us of our eternal relationship with the Divine.
Why Chant the Bhagavad Gita?
Chanting the Gita verses is not merely recitation; it is Nididhyasana — deep meditation through sound. The rhythm, tone, and pronunciation of each Sanskrit syllable carry spiritual power. Regular chanting develops focus, clarity, and inner harmony.
About Chapter 7 (Jnana Vijnana Yoga):
In this chapter, Lord Krishna explains both intellectual knowledge (Jnana) and experiential realization (Vijnana). He reveals His divine manifestations and the importance of knowing Him as the ultimate truth behind all existence. Verse 18 concludes the section by glorifying the wise devotee — the one whose knowledge is complete and whose devotion is pure.
May this short chant inspire you to dive deeper into the eternal wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita.
Listen, learn, and chant with love. May the sound of this verse bring peace, devotion, and divine understanding into your life.
🎧 Recommended Practice:
Repeat this chant three times with your eyes closed. Feel the vibrations within your heart. Reflect on the meaning — “The Lord and I are one.”
