The Vince Russo era continues on WCW Nitro. This week Buff Bagwell says he's going to go against every tradition of pro wrestling while also saying he's never going to do a job again. The "Powers That Be" inform Scott Hall & Kevin Nash that they'll be competiting tonight inside the ring, and Sting finds out that he's being stripped of the WCW belt after what happened at Halloween Havoc. A title tournament is announced on the show, and a tournament match featuring Bret Hart and Goldberg headlines the show.

On WWF Raw is War the New Age Outlaws want to compete in a tag match, and thanks to Triple H the tag team get themselves a match against Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. The Big Boss Man continues to torment The Big Show, and we visit the Acolytes having a quiet drink at a local bar.
