DARK NIGHTS DEATH METAL - ROBIN KING

Welcome back to another comic book review here on Toned In Entertainment. For those of us who have been loving the Death Metal series I think this is one of those issues that many have been anticipating. The seeds have been planted but does this menace deserve to rock the crown? Let's get on with the review of this one-shot into the Dark Nights Death Metal story with the Robin King.

I'm just going to get right to it. I love the Robin King character. He's evil and ruthless. But yet shows his age when he doesn't get his way. 

And this youngster is prepared to be a one man army for the Darkest Nights with a utility belt equipped for pretty much to fend off any superhero or situation. From smilex to Lobo's hook to both holy and unholy water it looks like the Robin King has covered all his bases.

Well maybe not all of them, I  don't see any shark repellant on the list 

The story in this issue is by Peter J Tomasi and it appears that he just had an absolute blast and showed known restraints as the Robin King's reign of terror runs rampant throughout this issue. 

From Hans Von Hammer and Steve Savage to Hawkman and Hawk Girl, to the trio of Blue Beetle, Animal Man and The red Tornado, and even the mightiest of Superheroes in Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman the Robin King is like a kid in the candy store as he toys with them almost at will. 

Through this series so far then Batman Who Laughs has been causing all types of chaos and here we get a little more insight as to his relationship with the Robin King and just how his army of Groblins has been created.

On a scale of 1-10 I'm going to give the Robin King one shot an 8.5 out of 10. It's weird, it warped  but it holds back no punches and gives us yet another crazy and fun story into the Death Metal series. 

The art  done by Riley Rossmo is in your face. The issue is filled with some really action packed, in your face moments.

Now when this story wraps up The Batman who Laughs is trying to make his point across who the boss is, however the army of Groblins have chosen who they believe should be wearing the crown, and that's the Robin King.

And when this issue comes to and there's a bit of a bonus mini-story as we are introduced to yet another evil Batman, Quietus is a story called THE QUIET ONES that I'm sure will have some pretty important implications moving forward.
