“City Talk” Series: Discussions in the Levant city history, heritage and food.

This webinar will introduce you to two different green lines that separated major cities in the Levant; Beirut and Jerusalem. While physical barriers are not there, one can still feel a strong separation between East and West. Samira organizing a green line tour in Beirut and Ghadeer researching Jerusalem city borders layered and organizer to green line tour in Jerusalem will discuss stories and history facts related to dividing lines that affect both cities lifestyle.

Ghadeer and Samira did not experience a physical barrier to the city, though had to delve in their city memories, diaries and history books to understand an invisible line. They both needed to understand how to walk, act and talk in their city. They both needed to explain a harsh division that identifies their cities. A comparison between both cities will uncover similarities, differences and many stories in between.

Samira Ezzo is the founder of @samirablogs, a creative cultural platform offering digital content and walking tours on historical, artistic, and heritage matters in her own country, and has offered guided tours, articles, and videos on several topics that touch those subjects. Most known for The Green Line Walking Tour, Samira covers the recent history of the Lebanese Civil War, alongside social, historical, and architectural sides of Beirut during the tour.
