The military is doing wildland firefighting training in the Pisgah National Forest. Monday through Friday pilots will be flying aircraft that spray water out the back. In a real-life situations that water will be replaced with fire retardant. The dry conditions and lightening this time of year can spark a blaze, and the training prepares pilots for the worst. Up to 14 practice flights will occur daily throughout remote parts of the Pisgah National Forest.
