Ja 1271: Big City Steam - October 2022 (HD)

During October 2022, the Glenbrook Vintage Railway & Steam Incorporated, ran joint excursion trains in the North Island, to celebrate the centennial of the Waiuku branch line & Steam Inc’s 50th anniversary. Steam locomotive Ja 1271 & six of Steam Incorporated's carriages, travelled to Auckland a few weeks prior, to help run these exciting steam excursions in Hamilton & Auckland. This video covers the weekend of October 14th - 16th, when 1271 ran trips in and around Auckland City, which is now a rarity behind steam and the Waiuku branch line's 100th anniversary, which features the Glenbrook Vintage Railway's own locomotive fleet in action. The video also covers a special feature of Ja 1271 climbing the Raurimu Spiral on the North Island Main Trunk, whist on its return to Paekakariki with the GVR's 'Grand North Island Steam Tour'.
