[Verse 1]
He walked the dusty road, came to rest at Jacob’s well
In the heat of midday sun, where the quiet shadows fell
A Samaritan woman came, her jar upon her hand
He said, “Give Me a drink,” breaking customs of the land
[Pre-Chorus]
She said, “You, an Israelite, ask me—a woman cast aside?”
He looked into her spirit, no judgment in His eyes
[Chorus]
“If you knew the gift of Elohim, and who it is who speaks,”
You would ask Me for mayim chayim—living water from the deep
A well that rises within, no thirst evermore
Living water, flowing from the Father’s store
[Verse 2]
She said, “You’ve no vessel, and the well is deep and wide
Are You greater than our father Ya’akov, who drank from this same side?”
He said, “Whoever drinks this water will thirst again and roam
But drink the water I give—and you’ll be coming home”
[Pre-Chorus]
“Sir, give me this water,” she said, her heart unsure
Still thinking of the surface, not the Spirit’s cure
[Chorus]
“If you knew the gift of Elohim, and who it is who speaks,”
You would ask Me for mayim chayim—living water from the deep
A spring that never fails, life at your core
Living water, flowing from the Father’s store
[Bridge]
“Go call your husband,” He gently said
“I have none,” she replied with bowed head
“You’ve spoken true,” He said with grace
“You’ve had five, and now no covenant’s in place”
She said, “I see You are a prophet set apart
Our fathers worshiped here—You say it’s Yerushalayim’s heart”
He said, “Believe Me, woman, the hour is coming fast
When true worship won’t be bound by mountains or the past
[Verse 3]
The Father seeks those who will worship in spirit and truth
For He is Ruach—He sees the inward proof”
She said, “I know Messiah comes—He’ll teach us all one day”
He said, “I am the One—Yah has sent Me your way”
[Chorus]
“If you knew the gift of Elohim, and who it is who speaks,”
You would ask Me for mayim chayim—living water from the deep
A well that flows within, forevermore
Living water, opening the ancient door
[Outro]
She left her jar behind, ran shouting through the square
“Come see the Man who knew me—He met me truly there!”
And many came to seek Him, to listen and believe
Because a woman at the well was ready to receive
