How To Troubleshoot A PC Power Supply - Pt 2 How To Test A PSU - Computer Not Turning On

This tutorial will teach you how to troubleshoot a pc power supply which is either causing your computer not turning on, or the computer turns on but no display on monitor. To properly test it, you should make sure that the mains and power cable are working ok by either plugging the cable into a known working device, or using a digital multi-meter to test for AC voltage.

You also need to make sure that the case, front panel power button and Power Switch cable that connects to the motherboard is working, and we cover this is part 1 of the Troubleshoot series, details below and in card above.

A quick test with a paper clip can show you that the PSU is turning on but it will not show you if the power supply is delivering the correct voltage.
