布丁在一歲十個月的時候被評估為嚴重自閉症，接受評估前媽媽留意到布丁不斷重複做某些動作、欠缺眼神接觸、即使被陌生人帶走也毫無危機感，當時媽媽以為布丁最多是輕度或中度自閉症，所以當布丁被評估為嚴重那刻，她坦言感到十分崩潰，不禁擔心︰「咁如果冇咗我呢，佢自己之後點呢？」

每名兒童接受一個月共20節，每節2.5小時的單對單密集式「應用行為分析」治療服務。治療師會針對自閉症兒童的個別發展需要而制定個人化教育計劃，包括加強自發性語言能力、社交技巧及改善行為問題等。服務對象為6歲或以下，來自基層家庭的自閉症兒童，需通過入息及資產審查，服務收費全免。

When Pudding was assessed at one year and ten months old, he was diagnosed with severe autism. Before the assessment, his mother noticed that Pudding would repeatedly perform certain actions, lacked eye contact, and showed no concern even when he taken away by strangers. At the time, she believed Pudding might have mild or moderate autism, so when he was assessed as severe, she felt devastated and worried: “What if I’m not here? How will he manage on his own?”
In her uncertainty, she reached out to our organization, APF. After Pudding received our “One Month 1 on 1 Intensive ABA Treatment,” his mother noticed significant changes in him.
She revealed that previously, even when Pudding repeatedly attempted the same task, he couldn’t grasp the underlying principles. However, after just 20 days of therapy, Pudding not only learned to make eye contact but also expressed himself and responded to simple questions.
His mother greatly appreciated APF’s therapy services, which guided Pudding’s cognitive development rather than enforcing blind obedience to single instructions. This approach made it easier for her to teach Pudding other concepts later on.
What is “One Month 1 on 1 Intensive ABA Treatment”?
Each child receives 20 sessions over a month, with each session lasting 2.5 hours. The individualized education plan, based on the developmental needs of each child with autism, focuses on enhancing spontaneous language abilities, social skills, and addressing behavioral issues. The service is available to children aged 6 or below from low-income families and is provided free of charge after income and asset assessment.
