Dunure to Ayr on the Ayrshire Coastal Path

Описание к видео Dunure to Ayr on the Ayrshire Coastal Path

A coastal hike of around 8 miles on the Ayrshire Coastal Path from the old harbour at Dunure to Ayr. The walk pretty much hugs the coast and is often on the rocky shore of the wide Firth of Clyde as it merges with the Atlantic Ocean. Some care has to be taken as very high tides will make the walk very difficult and at times practically impossible, so always check tide times before doing the walk. The section below the Heads of Ayr, for example is in places a narrow rocky stretch between the water and high cliffs, and at times it may be advisable to find a different way either on other tracks or nearby roads. Passing the site of the old Butlins Camp at Ayr, the route splits and you have the choice off either heading for Alloway or sticking with the coast as it becomes a wide promenade all the way to Ayr. A great walk with refreshing sea breezes and tremendous views all the way to the Isle of Arran. The walk ends with a bagpipe lament for the late Queen, Queen Elizabeth II.
