There is so much to be said about this song. To start off, I originally wrote this song years ago. Far back enough that my uncle Rudy and cousin Anthony used it in there videos when they first started their YouTube page called Grooming by Rudy. If you’re a dog lover like me, you should definitely check them out. Uncle Rudy is the dog grooming equivalent of Bob Ross - he’s gentle with his tools and his voice will soothe your soul!

Back to the song! Most of the time I create a song fresh every week. However, my time was limited from my wife Kate and I going through the house buying process, as well as missing a day due to the 4th of July holiday this week. I decided if I were to keep my weekly schedule, it would be best if I worked on something that already had my previous efforts invested. Yet instead of being any easier or quicker, the song escalated quickly as I started developing the guitar parts I wanted to include. It went from a guitar-less Future Bass song to something so much more!

For guitar tones, I have my tube screamer before my modded Cry Baby Wah pedal to get a sharper bite. The vocal stab sample came from ADSR sample pack, as well as much of the folly used through the track. ADSR makes great sample packs that are WELL worth the investment. Definitely check them out if you’re a producer! I’m using iZotope Iris to manipulate the pitch of the vocal stab. The entire mix is going through my Shadow Hills Dual Vandergraph compressor. The drums are slammed by my API 527 compressor and then paralleled back into the drum buss. Much of the saturation on my tracks are from Kush Audio’s saturation plugin line with the oversampling turned on. Warmth!

The meaning behind this song comes from Kate and I’s near weekly trips from Northern, NJ to Ocean County to house shop with our realtor Elida. Whenever we were done for the day, Kate and I would go to Seaside Beach to discuss what we had seen and to take in the beauty of being down the shore. Seaside has a sky lift ride that spans a section of the boardwalk. We timed it just right to be up in the air on the ride while the sun was setting. On the way back of the roundtrip, I looked over Kate’s shoulders and saw the horizon of the ocean. Between the thought of moving on from where we are now, and seeing my wife within the setting of the ocean, I saw my future as residents of Ocean County.
