Stone In Love - Journey - Guitar Lesson/Cover + TAB - Intro/Verse/Chorus/Solos (1 & 2) - Playthrough

Hello everyone!!

It's been a good while since the last video (sometimes I forget how much time has passed between uploads so sorry in advance!). This one is a Journey classic, but I still think it's an underrated song. The band has so many hits, so it's hard to stand out amongst them all, yet every time I listen to this specific track, it just puts me in a good mood. The crunch guitars panned left and right are huge-sounding and the soaring lead work by Neal Schon is wild. He has serious chops, that's for sure! If this song isn't underrated, then Neal definitely is as a guitarist! There's many cool riffs and licks just within this one song. I was originally going to cover 'Any Way You Want It', but in the early days of my channel I actually covered it one too many times, so it's safe to say I'm burnt out from doing it (I've long since deleted those covers). Regardless, 'Stone In Love' might be my favorite Journey song and since it's possibly not as well known as AWYWI, I thought I'd give it a shot! I strongly encourage you all to listen to it. Steve Perry's vocals are killer here. The Live in Houston version is also incredible (Neal literally plays the solos note-for-note perfect like the studio version).

I created the entire backing track from scratch. Drums, bass, and keys are all virtual. I recorded the guitars using amps sims and plug-ins. As for the format of the cover/lesson, I omitted the final solo because I didn't want to make the video too long. All other guitar parts, however, are included, including the "fill licks" during the second verse. I picked out the individual left and right guitars as best I could by ear. In the verse, they are doing the exact same thing. Same riff, same fingering, just doubled and panned L and R. In the chorus, there's some slight variation which is quite difficult to make it from listening to the recording but I think it's pretty close.
