Ancient Rylanor's Last Stand

This epic battle scene is from The Sons of the Emperor Anthology - The Ancient Awaits. Ancient Rylanor managed to survive on Istvaan III for several thousand years after the Heresy. A squad of Thousand Sons sorcerers went back there after hearing a distress signal and found where it had originated from. Fulgrim himself had personally showed up to take care of Rylanor. The sorcerers were so inspired by Rylanor resisting Fulgrim's corruption that they sacrificed themselves by setting off the very last Virus Bomb on Istvaan III to defeat the Daemon Primarch, finally allowing Rylanor to die in service of the Emperor.
