KEOWEE-TOXAWAY STATE PARK | ULTIMATE OUTSIDER VLOG #3

Описание к видео KEOWEE-TOXAWAY STATE PARK | ULTIMATE OUTSIDER VLOG #3

We visited Keowee-Toxaway State Park in Sunset, SC. This park was originally native land. It was owned by the Cherokee Nation and was rich with resources, several flowing rivers and at one point Cherokee farmed this land as well. They were basically forced out by white settlers and forced to give up their land here and in the Oconee area. Families lived in the valley until the electric dam project started and flooded the river valley of Jocasee and Keowee. There are still homes and a cemetery under the water of Lake Jocassee.
