Here's some backstory for those of you who are interested:

This one's a bit on the simpler side relative to the rest of the arrangements on the album, as it was the first one I'd put together after having taken a four-year break from the genre. It's also a pretty ancient idea, as I'd originally come up with this variation on the chorus melody probably somewhere around 2010, if I had to guess.

But it represented something important to me, as I'd become a bit disillusioned with my relationship to covering songs in general due to societal and commercial pressures distancing me from what really drives me musically. But after those four years, I realized this arrangement kept echoing in the back of my mind, asking to be produced (among others). And so naturally, this was the first one I chose to create in my attempt to reopen that channel of my creative life—this time with a more heart-anchored and sustainable approach in mind.

Things deepened substantially from that point, and I look forward to sharing the fruits of that process with you guys soon. But until then, I hope you enjoy this one!
