Brussels inauguration 2022 | EuroVelo 5 - Via Romea (Francigena) | European cycle route network

On Wednesday 23 March 2022, #EuroVelo 5 – Via Romea (Francigena) was officially inaugurated in Brussels. Another milestone towards greener mobility in Europe, the cycle route connects seven countries from the United Kingdom to Italy, allowing travellers to discover Europe by the greenest means of transport: the #bicycle. Traversing the heart of Brussels, the route also benefits everyday cyclists in the European capital.

To celebrate this green cycling connection in Europe, an event was held for the official unveiling of new EuroVelo 5 signs at the entrance to Parc du Cinquantenaire (Jubelpark).

EuroVelo 5 is 3,200 kilometres long and takes you through seven countries along 21 #UNESCO sites. It runs from Canterbury, England, through Brussels, all the way to Rome and Brindisi in Italy.
