Film Florida Friday featuring a discussion about Navigating the Film Grant Process. Panelists will discuss best practices for submitting for grants, finding the best grants for your project, how to stand apart from others, and more.

Film Florida Fridays are free interactive conversations about current topics, initiatives and relationship-building in Florida's screen production industry. These conversations take place one Friday each month at 9:30am EST on Zoom, where industry professionals and up-and-comers are encouraged to gather with a cup of coffee, ask questions and speak directly with industry leaders. Registration is free but required.

These are very time consuming, and never produce anything over 3 seconds that don’t morph. That’s why the impressive ones like this:

Look great, but the shots aren’t held.
They involve full time prompting and are very derivative. Original work is difficult. They also have terms of use severely limiting what you can produce (horror extremely difficult to generate).
I will say they can be good for proof of concept.

From Carole Dean : The secret to winning grants is tenacity. Get feedback from your application and do what they suggest then apply again, They will see your intention. Keep applying, some of my winners applied 3 times before they won the grant.
