P.V. Anwar announced the Democratic Movement of Kerala as a new political organization at a public meeting in Manjeri. E.A. Suku, former president of the Vazhikkadavu Panchayat, and Parakkat Hamsa, former district president of the Muslim League in Ernakulam, were also on stage with P.V. Anwar.
