Drought-tolerant, robust and stable in yield: Sorghum is the world's fifth-largest cereal and could become even more important in the course of climate change. Sorghum is optimally adapted to hot and dry climates and can store water even during prolonged periods of drought. While classic crops reach their limits under drought stress, sorghum yields remain stable. And the multiple uses also make sorghum an interesting alternative to grain and silage corn, knows Dr Magdalena Buschmann, Sorghum International Product Manager at KWS.
