Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has addressed the uncertainty surrounding the traditional pre-match handshake with Pakistan ahead of their clash in Colombo. Speaking on the matter, Yadav stated, 'Wait for 24 hours, we are here to play cricket, we will play good cricket, have good food and sleep.' He emphasized that a final decision would be taken on match day. The handshake protocol has been a point of contention since the 2025 Asia Cup, following the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha also commented, expressing his hope that the game returns to its traditional spirit. Additionally, Yadav discussed India's strategy against Pakistani bowler Usman Tariq, whose unique action he described as an 'out of syllabus question' for which the team is prepared. Despite the political tensions and weather concerns in Sri Lanka, both teams remain focused on the ICC fixture, with India aiming to maintain their dominant statistical record in recent encounters.
