Developed by Squaresoft for the Super Famicom (Japanese SNES) in 1996, Treasure of the Rudras was Square's final self-developed RPG for the system. Rudra is set in a world on the brink of annihilation. Pollution has poisoned the earth's land, air, and water. To make matters worse a scion of destruction is due to arrive in 16 days time to kill of all humanity. A group of heroes work independently to save the world.

Gameplay: Rudra is a traditional menu-based RPG. Much like Dragon Warrior 4, Gameplay is broken into three separate adventures. These scenarios cross paths towards the end of the game as the parties band together to fight the final battle. Magic is based on words, or mantras. Players can enter any letter combinations they choose to discover new spells.
