Can Succulents Grow In Sand?

Succulents are super hardy plants and will grow in just about anything, but that doesn't mean they should. Sand, in my opinion, is not a great potting medium for succulents to grow in long term.

If you want your plants to look fabulous you should certainly not grow them in in just sand or sand heavy potting mix. The best you can do for your succulents is to grow them in good quality succulent potting mix that is about 15% sand.
