You have probably run into one of the above puzzle doors with triangles and numbers and symbols on them. Your reveal spell shows treasure chests behind them, and you want to grab that loot, but first you have to solve this puzzle. Where to start? It’s actually pretty easy, and does not require you spamming in all possible symbol combinations like I did when I first saw this.

This is called an arithmancy puzzle, and you just have to do a simple bit of math. Here’s how it works:

There are two triangles, there are numbers on each point of the triangle that add up to the number in the middle. Sometimes in the place of a number is a symbol.
There are symbols around the outside, and two wall-mounted switches that will require you to select two missing symbols. Each symbol has a number from 0-9 as you go from left to right.
So, to solve this, you add the two numbers you can see. Then you subtract that from the middle number. Then you match the symbol.
