A random early episode of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Mel Gibson and Molly Ivins are interviewed, and operatic soprano singer Kathleen Battle performs beautifully. This was Jay's first Friday show since taking over, and the first one to include a skit, in the form of Presidential Candidate Jeopardy. This show was on the original purple set, and was broadcast live, as were the previous shows that week.

Includes commercials, one video drop out toward the end of the skit, and some muted commercials due to mistakes at the affiliate, WVTM 13 in Birmingham. Recorded on a RCA VR671HF at LP speed with hi-fi sound via cable signal. Some video correction was applied.
