Death's Footsteps is one of the easier to miss trophies in Monster Menu: The Scavenger's Cookbook. All you need to do is spend around eight minutes on a stage and this will cause a special version of Vertex to appear. While you don't need to fight this boss for the trophy, I strongly suggest doing it because the notebook entry, which you must complete to platinum, requires it.
