Daenerys was the youngest daughter of Queen Alicent Hightower and King Viserys I Targaryen, born before her youngest brother, Daeron. From the cradle she bore the quiet strength of her mother and the fiery spirit of her father’s house. A child of two worlds, destined to walk the line between duty and defiance. She bonded young with her dragon Drogon, a creature of shadow and flame whose temper mirrored her own, and their bond became unshakable, as fierce as blood itself.
As Daenerys grew, her beauty and sharp wit became the subject of whispers in the Red Keep. For a time, Viserys considered marrying her to Aegon instead of Helaena. The match would have pleased the court, the youngest and most admired daughter, wed to the heir. But Alicent refused. Not out of ambition, nor out of political concern, but out of love. She saw herself reflected in Daenerys, a girl trapped in the weight of expectation, destined to be used as a piece on a board.

Among her siblings, Daenerys shared a strange and delicate bond with Aemond. Behind his stoic mask and cold, sharp words, he revealed pieces of himself to her that no one else ever saw. After the loss of his eye, it was Daenerys who stayed by his side, unafraid of his silence or his rage. To Aemond, she was more than a parent, she was the one person who made him feel whole. Yet even for Targaryens, love was a dangerous thing, twisting between devotion and destruction, blurred between passion and duty.

Alicent loved all her children, but her love for Daenerys was different. It was softer, yet fiercer. She confided in her more than the others, held her closer, as though by protecting Daenerys she might heal the wounds of her own past.
But all was shattered the day Alicent and Otto crowned Aegon in secret, stealing the throne from Rhaenyra. Daenerys was not told of their schemes, yet she discovered the truth soon enough. Outrage and betrayal filled her, leading to heated arguments behind closed doors. She could not reconcile the woman she loved, her mother, with the usurpation that defied her father’s will.
In the end, Daenerys made her choice. Outwardly she remained a Green, but her heart turned toward Rhaenyra, the rightful heir. She had always cared for Rhaenyra and her children, and now that care became quiet defiance. From within the heart of the enemy’s fortress, she became a shadow, carrying secrets and whispers to Dragonstone, risking everything for the truth.
For a time, she went unnoticed. The Greens saw her as the dutiful daughter, the silent sister. But secrets cannot remain hidden forever. Near the eve of Harrenhal, her betrayal was uncovered.

Now, with Rhaenyra gathering her strength and the Greens fracturing under their own ambitions, Daenerys stands at the edge of a storm. She believes in Rhaenyra’s birthright, in the iron throne that was stolen.

( Daenerys never truly understood the horror that would come to be known as Blood and Cheese. When Daemon spoke of vengeance, she believed his wrath was meant solely for Aemond, a measured strike for Lucerys’s death, nothing more. )
