I love hats and headwear of all kinds (including scarves and bandanas), and I love historical and vintage clothing! So, a few years ago I decided to knit myself a snood-style hat/hairnet. I love wearing beanies, but they are just so hot and can be worn so rarely in Florida. This snood, while similar to a beanie, is more open (like a net) and lighter, so it's perfect for Florida and can even be worn in the summer! I love wearing it to keep the hair off my neck or when my hair is dirty or when I just want an easy style. After pushing all my hair in it, I secure it to my head by using combs as an anchor point to slide hair pins into. This way, it can sit further back on my head (more like a net and not a hat) and won't slide off or twist throughout the day.
