Alberta Premier Danielle Smith visits Calgary’s Heritage Park to announce a plan to move forward with a master plan for the development of a passenger rail system in the province. The master plan includes rail connections between Calgary and Edmonton, Calgary and Banff, and Edmonton and Jasper. A feasibility study on the potential passenger rail system is set to be completed in the summer of 2025.

She is joined by Devin Dreeshen, Alberta’s minister of transportation, Chris Dinsdale, president and CEO of the Calgary Airport Authority, and Justin Simaluk, president of the Rail for Alberta Society.
