Harlequin Macaw Development: Kami Stepping Up

It is fun watching Kami, our Harlequin Macaw, develop. It seems like our baby can do something new every day.

In this video Kami is starting to "Step up" - a natural behavior, since parrots step onto branches all of the time. It is an important 'trick' for a parrot to know how to do.

We find that our Harlequin Macaw is super-intelligent. All parrots are, but Kami has developed and learned things overnight! Her progress and recall are faster than any other parrot we've observed. She is also very warm and cuddly! True to what is said about Harlequin Macaws, her temperament is mellow and calm and she relates well with us - she particularly likes being petted.
