the fulltone octafuzz runs at 9v and has a transformer that creates a nice sag while the octavix also runs at 9v but can also charge up to 27v which really increases the octave effect, the octavix allows you to blend in the octave to taste instead of just switch it on or off, doesn't sound like it has a transformer, there is a different character to the fuzz
