How to fix neck dive. Gibson SG neck dive plagues a lot of people so solve neck dive on a Gibson SG with these solutions. A suede strap can help prevent guitar neck dive, but what about if you're sitting down?

You can either remove weight from the headstock end or add weight to the body. I've put links below to stick-on weights to add to your guitar body to stop neck dive but I personally opt for making a 3mm steel chequer-plate cavity cover of your Gibson SG.

Gibson SG neck dive is common, and you find this on a few other types of guitar too. The best solution I've found for Gibson SG neck dive is adding weight around the control cavity. A Gibson SG is light enough for the additional weight to not be noticable either.

The other way to resolve Gibson SG neck dive is making the headstock lighter. The only way I've found to do this is by changing the tuner buttons for plastic ones. This is only a small help though so if you really want a Gibson SG neck dive fix then you'll have to add weight the other end of the guitar.

If you're not confident enough to cut and fit a metal control vabity plate to your Gibson SG then you could always fit weights inside the cavity. I'm not a fan of this ideas as there inside much space inside a Gibson SG control cavity and you don't want anything to ground out. It can work but you don't want any of those weights coming lose over time which is why I feel the long-term solution for Gibson SG neck dive is the metal control cover - 3mm of steel and if you use chequerplate it also looks cool. Just don't use aluminium.
