5 cheap and easy DIY vintage projects to decorate your home, and how I use these DIY projects in my own studio makeover!

First I will show you how to turn old picture frames into a minimalist display with a vintage feel. I paint the frames for a distressed look and use an old floating shelf I had lying around to display them above my studio desk.

Then I will modify some Ikea ALEX drawers to give them a vintage library chic look by simply adding metal label holders. I organized the drawers so that my art supplies would be easily found. This is especially helpful for when I'm focused and in the groove while creating. All my supplies are quick to find and in arm's reach from my chair.

Next, I use a piece of wood from Hobby Lobby and some chalkboard paint to create a changeable canvas that adds character to the room. I decided to draw a plant in chalk paint to add a little more greenery to the room.

The fourth project makes use of some old books that were lying around the house. I glue linen fabric to the cover of the books and stamp the titles on the spine with some inexpensive rubber stamps. This project gave new life to these books. Turning them into a decoration made me want to read them again.

Finally, I turn inexpensive wooden spools from Hobby Lobby into a vintage decoration with some lace and rubber stamps. I stamp the ends of the spool with some vintage stamps I had in the studio. Then I wrap the spools with lace and beads and display them in a small wire basket.
