This is an excerpt from my another video. I wish somebody explained the concept of Kubernetes in this way when I was studying it. It is not exactly word-to-word accurate (there is no such a thing named "pod controller", for example) but this way of thinking enables you to understand how Kubernetes works in holistic way. Hopefully this video will clarify some other questions you might have such as:

1. I created ingress resource. Why is it not working?
Probably you did not install ingress controller. Without corresponding controller, resource does not do anything.
2. I set up horizontal pod autoscaler resource. Why is it not happening?
Autoscaling requires multiple services to work - on top of autoscaling service itself, probably you need a service that monitors the load and provide data to the autoscaling service.
3. Load Balancer can be understood as external controller that monitors service resource.
