The application possibilities of SCHMINCKE liquid charcoal

The liquid charcoal produced by Schmincke since 2021 opens up many new possibilities for artists. Until now, charcoal drawings were a dusty affair and could only be realised with a lot of pigment abrasion and dirty fingers.
However, this is now over! All you need is a brush, a little water and a tube of liquid charcoal - now even large-scale charcoal works can be ideally realised. Based on gum arabic, this new product is kind of a „mixture“ of gouache and watercolour paint. The ingredients are vegan and natural and are obtained from finely ground, charred fruit seeds.

The liquid charcoal comes in three colours in 35 ml tubes:
- 18 757 - a neutral peach stone black
- 18 756 - a warm, brownish cherry pit black
- 18 755 - a cool, bluish grape seed black.

In this video, the artist and ambassador Dirk Schmitt uses a Gesso painting plate in 30x30cm and the liquid charcoal - peach stone black 18 757, also the fixing spray AEROSPRAY B72 and MUSSINI resin-oil colours.
