Some impressions of my new Walter "Monk" McGinn-inspired Blackthorn Cudgel made by Irish Shillelaghs Rhine-Valley. Wonderfull work, burned wood, natural bark head, a 480 g, 65 cm beast of a Cudgel.
Walter "Monk" McGinn was a real historical member of the notorious NY Five Points Gang The Dead Rabbits, later became a democratic politician of Tammany Hall and later murdered by nativist leader Walter Cutting known as Bill the Butcher.

McGinn was famously portrayed in the Martin Scorcese movie Gangs of New York by the most excellent irish actor Brendan Gleeson.
