What started as an ordinary piece of wood turned into one of my most striking creations.
I found this unique branch and couldn’t decide what to make from it. But as always, I never change the natural form of the wood — instead, I embrace it.
I peeled off the bark, carefully carved it for hours, and decided to keep the branch as a handle. After shaping, I cut the base to balance the weight perfectly with the handle. Then came the sanding process with three different grits, making the surface smooth and silky.
Yet something still felt missing. So I burned the outer surface — including the handle — giving it a dark, dramatic character. With my branding stamp and a special wood oil, the grains came alive and the piece transformed into a rustic yet elegant masterpiece.
This 238-minute process is condensed into just 13 minutes so you can enjoy the transformation from start to finish.
