Today I wanted to share with you one of the pedals that has helped me a lot in the two years I've been a "professional guitarist." Often, the gig doesn't pay enough to bring a bassist along and sometimes there's not enough space anyway. For those gigs, I like to bring a Boss OC-3 with me. Set to the polyphonic mode, you're able to choose which notes go down the octave into bass territory. This allows you to play bass with your lowest two strings while keeping the upper notes in the normal range of the guitar. This is the only pedal able to do so. It's a game changer when you're on a duo gig and you really need to fill the place up with sound, or maybe just in a restaurant by yourself and you want to sound more full. I like to leave the wet signal only mixed about 60% in since it does sound a bit odd by itself.
