Saraband in A minor by the famous Baroque lute composer Sylvius Leopold Weiss comes from the so called Krzeszów / Grüssau manuscript, a vast collection of lute music from lower Silesia,. The Sarabande form underwent a lot of changes after being implemented into the Baroque suite. From a light and sensuous dance with a reputation for lasciviousness it evolved into a sombre movement, sinuous, soft, but as Talbot described: „apt to move passions and to disturb tranquility of the mind”.
