Описание к видео Introduction to Science Policy nanolecture - Definitions, examples, and an excercise

This nanolecture serves as the introductory session of the Scientific Citizenship Initiative's (SCi) science policy workshop series. It provides a foundational understanding of the dual roles of science in public policy—policy for science and science for policy—and explores how personal and societal values shape both policy creation and scientific recommendations. Learning Objective: Participants will learn to differentiate between scientific evidence and values in policymaking and understand the role of diverse perspectives in co-creating effective policies.

Target Audience: The lecture is tailored for scientists, educators, and professionals interested in bridging the gap between science and policy, as well as those seeking to enhance their ability to contribute to equitable, evidence-informed policymaking processes. It also appeals to anyone interested in learning how to effectively integrate science into public discourse and policy decisions.
