Remembering Varig's DC-10s

As promised, we started to publish our content in Shakespeare's language. Eventually, the whole content will be in full English, the LINGUA FRANCA of aviation.

We start off with a new playlist, called simply AIRPLANES. As the name implies, we will simply share my vast (770K) image bank, paying tributes to different types, models, airlines. Not too much talk, just images, a bit of background soundtrack and off we go down memory lane.

In this first video, I chose to remember a classic type from a bygone airline. Varig operated 15 DC-10-30s between 1974 and 1999, serving, from it's hib at Rio de Janeiro Tom Jobim Airport, virtually every major city on its international network. Services started on the evening of July 1st, 1974, with PP-VMA serving the GIG-JFK rotation and PP-VMB launching from GIG to Europe, going non-stop to Lisbon, Paris and Frankfurt.
