Level 1 Certified Infrared Thermographer Training.
Level 1 Certified Infrared Thermographer® - Distance Learning is a 32 hour online course for the qualitative application of infrared thermal imaging. There are no prerequisites for Level I training.
Course topics include: overview of infrared applications, heat transfer concepts, basic infrared theory, emittance, reflectance, transmittance, electrical systems inspections, setting up an IR program, rotating equipment inspections, active thermography, report generation, structural inspections, insulated roof inspections, and more.
Applications include: electrical, mechanical, refractory, rotating equipment, building envelopes, flat roofs, and underground piping.
The course tuition includes 24 hour online access for 60 days to course materials, a Student Reference Manual, course completion verification, and course material shipping.
After course completion, students are eligible to take the Certified Infrared Thermographer® exam. This exam can be taken for free at the annual IR/INFO conference or at the end of an open enrollment class. For an additional fee, the exam can also be taken online via video conference.
