Taking on the big boys! MVL vs Nihal | World Blitz 2019

Nihal Sarin (2685) is well known for his blitz skills. In round 17 of the World Blitz Championships 2019 he was pitted against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (2768), one of the best players in the world of chess. Nihal played the Sicilian Sveshnikov against MVL, and as is common for Nihal, he took a lot of time for his moves. Very soon he landed in time pressure, but he also seemed to have a better position. What happened next? Was Nihal able to overcome his time pressure and beat MVL like he did against Nepo, or was the lack of time too much for Nihal to handle. Check out the video to find out.
