Thru-Hiking the Appalachian Trail RUINED My Life (And I'm Not MAD)

For all the talk about "life-changing experiences," how often does an epic adventure REALLY transform a life? In my case, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail ruined my life. I'll never be the same again. And that's totally OK with me!

It took me a while to realize that my Appalachian Trail thru-hike was a catalyst for change. Once I recovered from a twinge of post-trail depression, it slowly dawned on me that life as I knew it was over. I certainly didn't expect the massive mental shift that thru-hiking sparked for me. I leaned into it and I'm so glad I did.
