Jesus refers to himself as "the son of man" about 80 times, as written in the Gospels. In fact, it's the title that he uses the most! Is it a catch phrase? A nickname? Or was he referencing something deeper and meaningful? Obviously, it's Jesus...everything he said and did had purpose. In today's message, "The Son of Man", we will explore some of that depth and meaning. We'll go back to the Old Testament, where "son of man" was used most frequently, in the book of Ezekiel. We'll look at some of the prophetic messages that Ezekiel was to deliver to the people of his day and see how they paralleled Jesus' words to the religious leaders of the day. We will also dive into Daniel 7 where the one "like a son of man" is given full dominion, power, authority, and rule over all heaven and earth. Jesus references this right to the Chief Priest and High Council when he was arrested! It was a bold statement of his deity and authority. It was a scandalous thing to say to the religious leaders of the time, but it was the Truth. Spend some time in today's message diving into a study of "The Son of Man".
