Bar Position?

Where should you have your Handle Bar Position? Forward or backward? The top trials rider of the world all have their bars crazy forward. And of course if its good for Toni Bou, well it must be good for the rest of us.... shouldn't it?

When Jack Dance came to Perth, and left his 2023 GasGas TXT 300, I managed to swindle it....(insert evil laugh ). He had his handle bars WAY forward of where i would. I used to run my bars a bit forward and in recent years I have been moving them back. I know there is benefit in being forward for higher level riders, but where there is benefit, is in riding that we don't really get in Perth.

This was an opportunity to play with and test out the extreme forward position.

Any time we make adjustments to things, it generally is a give and take situation. What you gain in one area you then lose in another. Often riders only consider what ever it is they want to fix in their mind.
