EDIT 14/07/2015: A representative from Weber reached out to say “One small detail from our side, we never oil the cooking grates. The oil just burns off when the grill is pre-heated so it’s always best to oil the food, not the grates.” I still prefer to oil the grate, but you can figure out what works best for you.
