Figured I recorded just a little bit of this while I was feeling quite down, and wanted to share it with you all. The original I believe was by The Longest Johns. This has no backing music, no chorus. Just me on my own singing my little heart out.

Song means a lot of things to me, and I'm not certain it's what the folks who made the song intended, but personally I see it as a mans struggle to move on after he's lost the men under his care. It's something I relate to at least, and it's something that's stung me for a while.

This used to be a song that I couldn't sing. Not because it's particularly difficult, and not because I've mastered it now. This is one of the few times I've been able to sing it without crying.

Though I did come close a few times, and left a lot of takes on the cutting room floor, and it's not the best rendition of the song. All the more it still comes from deep within my heart.
