My Swedish Diary - 51. Swedish education vs. Romanian education

We, Romanians, use to say that our school education needs a profound reform and to adapt the curricula to modern times. We still stuff children's minds with too much theoretical knowledge and too many things that they actually do not need, instead of helping them to get ready for real life and digital era. We also say that Sweden is one of the best places in Europe for education, which is true. I will be forever grateful to this amazing country for giving me the chance to study at university.
Recently I met an amazing, gifted teacher in Stockholm. He visited Romania for an Erasmus programme and he gave me some insights into both countries' education systems. I have to admit that I was a little surprised...
