The series not only offered up plenty of laughs but also had a phenomenal cast of talented actors who perfectly embodied their roles. One of those actors was Patricia Richardson, the matriarch of the Taylor family.

Patricia Richardson is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable sitcom mom's in TV history, but the Home Improvement alum's new look is causing her fans to do a double-take. She looks strikingly different than the brunette woman who helped keep her bumbling husband, Tim, in check while raising three strikingly different and independent boys.

Richardson, who recently celebrated her 70th birthday, has been dying her hair auburn brown for years but to shake things up during the pandemic she decided to let her natural gray color grow out in all of its glory. And we've just got to say, she is absolutely rocking her fresh new look. She may look a lot different than she did 20 years ago, but it's refreshing and inspiring to see her step into herself so authentically and effortlessly.

Having spent the majority of her career in or around Hollywood, it's not surprising that Richardson has had to maintain a certain image for so long. When you're a star, a lot of times people and studios expect you to stay the same. Any deviation of your image can spell trouble for your career. But now that she is in the Golden Years of her life, Patricia has decided to do her own thing without worrying too much about what the media or studio execs think. Really though, at this point, she's earned that right.

Last fall, Richardson gave an interview with Entertainment Tonight where she proudly wore her gray hair pulled back making her look pretty unrecognizable as she mused about the days when she played the Taylor family matriarch, Jill, on the hit 1990s sitcom Home Improvement.

Fans took to Twitter to cheer her on after the interview aired as part of the show's 'Iconic Leading Ladies of the 90s' segment. Many applauded her for having the courage to rock the new look while others took the opportunity to praise her for her contributions to the entertainment industry.
