Fishing for Chum Salmon are allowed for a certain period in October. Before that, everyone has to release chum to allow them swimming upstream toward the creek to lay egg. Once the quota is met, they close the gate to prevent the chum from swimming upstream and that is when they open for chum fishing. However, there are a few rules at this place: only Native American people can fish in fresh water and everyone else has to fish in the salt water. The daily limit for chum salmon is 4/day.
